Best trends for fall 2015 spotted at New York Fashion Week
Here are some of the trends that I think will be exciting for women over 40. Please note that the 2015 fall runways shows are still happening as we speak, so this preview is mainly based on New York and London.
I was happy to see that asymmetry is alive and well. Victoria Beckham especially featured many fabulous asymmetric looks.
Gorgeous autumn colors
Colors were more subdued and often presented in a gorgeous mix of autumn colors. Just love this look and the look below.
Lots of square prints on the catwalk, both in classic form (plaid) as well as more modern versions.
Lots of monochromatic looks. Often these looks featured different textures as is also shown below.
Marsala and lace
Versions of the color of the year Marsala were popular as was lace. This outfit has the best of both worlds.
Moss green and long skirts and dresses
Moss green was a popular color too and hems were long, many well over the knee.
Covered necks: Turtlenecks, high necklines and scarves wrapped around the neck ruled the runway.
Men inspired: always a popular theme and this season is no exception.
All-over prints: as can be seen from the above images, all-over prints was the counterpart to the monochromatic looks.
All kinds of different fur: fur was everywhere and faux fur should readily available next season too.
Long coats as well as belted coats.
